Olam Progida and Duzce University Signed A Protocol For Better Farming
Düzce University has signed a cooperation protocol with Olam Progida for joint projects to contribute to the development of the local communities engaged in agricultural activities.
The signing ceremony held in the office of the Universty Rector; Rector of Düzce University Dr. Nigar Demircan Çakar, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences Dr. Prof. Dr. Sevcan Öztemiz, Olam Progıda Country Head Ufuk Özongun, University faculty members and Olam Progıda management attended.
Protocol was signed by Prof. Dr. Nigar Demircan Çakar on behalf of the university Rector, and by Ufuk Özongun on behalf of Olam Progıda. Two institutions aim to raise awareness of the communities, especially in hazelnut farming, and to carry out activities to support farming under healthy conditions. University and Olam Progida plans to organize courses and social activities that will contribute to the education and development of the children of the seasonal migrant worker families coming to the region seasonally. Olam Progida is going to open its doors to students of Duzce University for year-round vocational education within the scope of the protocol. In addition, they are going to organize and create new national and international research projects and scientific activities.
