Olam Progida Becomes First Hazelnut Business To Join Turkey’s National Quality Movement

Olam Progıda, a leading hazelnut company in the nuts sector, has become the first hazelnut exporter in Turkey to join the National Quality Movement (UKH), part of the Turkey Quality Association (KalDer). The Declaration of Goodwill was signed by KalDer Secretary General Seval Kızılcan and Olam Progıda General Manager Hakan Karakaş, taking the total number of signatories to 697.

Participation in the programme – which is based on the EFQM Excellence Model – means Olam Progida’s overall processes, quality standards and total quality management are aimed to be extended to the highest level. Congratulating Olam Progıda for its efforts in the fields of quality and excellence, KalDer Secretary General Seval Kızılcan said: “The National Quality Movement will make important contributions not only to Olam Progıda but also to the agriculture and hazelnut sector in Turkey...We are far from the times when success is considered as ingenuity. Today's understanding of success is directly proportional to how long we can sustain it. Therefore, there is only one thing to do; continue to seek excellence and make it sustainable ”.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, OIam Progıda’s General Manager Hakan Karakas said: "This is an important step to encourage our sector to embrace the “Excellence” approach.  Our company has continuously developed its own methods in order to increase the efficiency of operations and we have participated in the National Quality Movement process in order to support our drive towards continuous improvement and meet the expectations of all our stakeholders at the highest level.”
