Gender Equality - Women Farmers Trainings
Olam Progıda organized trainings for women hazelnut farmers and children in schools in cooperation with the Association of Ideas and Art Workshop (FISA) and local authorities in East and West Black Sea region.
In the trainings, topics such as eliminating child labor in hazelnut supply chain and disseminating good employment practices, good agricultural practices and good social practices are covered.
In the training, agricultural systems are addressed by agronomists working in the Olam Progıda Sustainability Program, as well as issues such as discrimination, gender equality, fighting against violence, children's rights, child labor barriers, wage inequality, seasonal migrant workers’ rights , improving working and living conditions for workers are addressed.
During the workshop organized with women producers, children's workshops are held in parallel sessions. Workshops on child rights and child labor are organized by children's development specialists for children aged 8-10 years, followed by discussions about seasonal agricultural workers and their children in hazelnut farming. At the end of the activities, gift books are distributed to children.
