Summer Schools of ofi Turkey
We support children right to access eduation and therefore we support projects on seasonal migrant workers’ children to go to school instead of working in the hazelnut farms. It is important for all children to continue their regular education.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, Ministry of Education and the International Labor Organization (ILO) ofi Turkey organizes summer schools for children since 2012. The project titled as “the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labor in Seasonal Agriculture in the Black Sea Region”. In 2018, ofi Turkey supported three summer schools in the Kirazlı Village of the Sakarya Province in the Sakarya Province, in the Esmahanım in the Akçakoca District of the Düzce Province and two in the Akkaya Village reaching hundreds of seasonal migrant workers’ children.
